‘The Monks Tale’ Archives Afternoon – Monday 28th April
Join Canterbury Cathedral for a fascinating afternoon on the history of the Benedictine monastery at Canterbury Cathedral and the life of the monks who lived and worked here over the centuries. Guests will have a chance to see some examples from the historic collections, followed by an informative talk from Cressida Williams, Cathedral Archivist. In this illustrated talk, Cressida will speak about the history of the medieval monastery at Canterbury Cathedral, whilst highlighting the stories of some individual monks who lived and worked at the Cathedral over the years. The group will then be taken on a tour to parts of the cathedral grounds relating to monastic life.
The event will end with a full afternoon tea in the Refectory Restaurant at the Cathedral Lodge, with the option to attend Evensong at the Cathedral afterwards.
